Czech Republic
The Czech Republic reach the quarter-finals after a surprising victory over the Netherlands in the round of 16, completely dismantling the Dutch side, by maintaining their intensity throughout and offering up no respite to their opponents.
The Czech Republic, more so than any of the other teams still in the tournament, have no world-renowned, top-tier players, but they make up for that with an impressive collective effort.
The last time the Czech Republic beat Denmark was in the quarter-finals of the 2004 Euros, by a 3-0 scoreline.
Denmark
Denmark reached the quarter-finals after sweeping aside the Welsh, winning 4-0. Denmark started the Euro with two straight defeats in the group stage yet have safely navigated a path through.
The Danes have surprised with their offensive potential as a unit, creating some of the highest numbers of shots at goal.
Key Stats
- Three wins, one draw and one defeat for the Czech Republic in their last five games
- Four of the Czech Republic’s last five games have ended with under 2.5 total match goals
- Three wins and two defeats for Denmark in their last five games
- Denmark have scored four goals each in their last two games
Czech Republic vs Denmark Predictions
The Czech Republic are a very compact and very defensive team and this is what has taken this far in the competition. Conversely, Denmark have produced some of the most entertaining matches in the tournament, thanks to their offensive play. We think the Danes will win this match as they are the more experienced team and are truly coming into form.
Typically teams are not seeking to take risks in the quarter-final so we expect this will be a close game and the winner will prevail by the narrowest of margins.
