The Sedin brothers, Alfredsson and Luongo included in the Hockey Hall of Fame

The new members of the Hall are forwards Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, and Daniel Alfredsson.

The Sedin brothers spent all 17 seasons in the NHL with Vancouver.

Hockey Hall of Fame

Henrik was captain of the Vancouver Canucks from 2010 to 2018. He scored 1,070 (240+830) points in 1,330 games in the NHL. The Swede won the Art Ross Trophy in the 2009-10 season, becoming the regular season’s highest scorer (112 points).

Daniel recorded 1041 (393+648) points in 1306 NHL games. He won the Art Ross Trophy in the 2010/11 season, becoming the NHL’s highest scorer with 104 points during the regular season.

Alfredsson was drafted by Ottawa in the 6th round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft at number 133 overall. In his first NHL season, he won the Calder Trophy as the best rookie of the season, scoring 61 points in 82 games. In total in the league, the Swede recorded 1,157 (444+713) points in 1,246 games.

In addition, Roberto Luongo will be included in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Canadian goaltender played 18 seasons (1,045 games) in the NHL, appearing for the Islanders, Florida State, and Vancouver. He has two Olympic gold medals to his credit (2010 and 2014).

Also nominated to the Hall were Finnish hockey player Riikka Sallinen and Herb Carnegie – in the builder category.
