Jorginho joined Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, and it appears that his new teammates at the Premier League leaders are overjoyed to have him.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was filmed welcoming new Arsenal signing Jorginho to the club.

On transfer deadline day, the midfielder joined the Gunners for £12 million from Chelsea, providing a welcome boost to their squad ahead of the run-in. Arsenal currently leads the Premier League by five points, with a game in hand.

They are well-positioned to win their first league title in 19 years, with Zinchenko playing a key role in their ascension to the top of the table. He will be hoping for a similar impact from Jorginho, who is expected to primarily serve as a backup to Mikel Arteta’s first-choice midfielder.

Jorginho arrived at Arsenal’s London Colney training facility on deadline day to finalise his transfer. Arsenal has released a behind-the-scenes video of the Italian international’s first day with the club.

As Zinchenko and Jorginho crossed paths, the cameras caught a nice moment between them. As the latter approached a door, Zinchenko was on the other side, both stepping back to allow the other to cross first.

After a brief hesitation, Zinchenko extended his arms to indicate that Jorginho should go first. As the midfielder passed, Zinchenko patted him on the back and smiled broadly.

Jorginho expressed his excitement at the prospect of working with Arteta after joining his new club. And he insisted that his sole focus would be on assisting Arsenal to end their long wait for a Premier League title.

“He was a big influence because I know that he tried a few times to get me before and it didn’t happen due to other reasons, not because of my wishes. “Of course, he had a lot of influence,” he explained.

“I’m very excited for this new challenge, and I honestly can’t wait to be on the pitch!” Everything happened so quickly. I was surprised, but I took advantage of this incredible opportunity.

“It’s a significant shirt. It’s an incredible club, a large one, and I’m very excited and happy to be here. We had a friendly match even during pre-season, and I could feel and see that Arsenal would do very well this season.

“I’ll try to just bring positive energy, hard work and my experience to help the team. It’s something I always bring with me. “I just try to help with my experience from previous clubs and anything I can do to help the team achieve more and more, that’s my goal.”

Jorginho is expected to make his Arsenal debut against Everton on Saturday lunchtime. With a win, Arteta’s men can move eight points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City.
