Mikel Arteta speaks out on Casemiro suspension ahead of Arsenal vs Manchester United clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested that with or without Casemiro, Manchester United are a strong side to play against.
Casemiro will miss the Arsenal trip on Sunday after he received his fifth yellow card in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
The former Real Madrid midfielder has been a rock for Manchester United since his summer switch and his absence is obviously going to be a huge miss for the Red Devils.
While United will plan to get something off Arsenal without Casemiro, Man United won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Old Trafford without the Brazil international in the starting lineup.
Speaking about Casemiro’s situation, Arteta said: “It’s something that we can’t control. He didn’t play in the first game either and we still didn’t do enough to win that match.
“When you look at their [Manchester United] squad it’s incredible the individuals and the collective organisation to beat any opponent in this league and we will plan the game knowing that he’s not available – that’s for sure.”
