Man Utd star included in International Squad for the First time.
Manchester United’s young starlet, Alejandro Garnacho, has been called up to the Argentina senior squad for the first time ahead of their forthcoming fixtures.
Lionel Scaloni’s side is set to play friendly matches against Panama and Curacao during the upcoming international break, and the 19-year-old Garnacho could be in line to make his debut for the national team.
Despite being born in Madrid and representing Spain at the youth level, Garnacho is eligible to play for Argentina through his mother’s nationality. He featured for Argentina’s U20 side last year, but unfortunately missed out on selection for the World Cup squad.
However, his performances for Manchester United have not gone unnoticed. United boss, Erik ten Hag, has shown his faith in the young Argentinian this season, and Garnacho has responded with increasingly impressive displays over the course of the campaign. He has found the net on four occasions in all competitions, including a crucial goal in United’s 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round victory over West Ham on Wednesday.
Garnacho’s call-up to the Argentina senior squad is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and he will now have the opportunity to showcase his talents on the international stage.
The youngster has been included in Scaloni’s 35-man squad for the nation’s upcoming friendlies, which will be their first matches since winning the World Cup in December.
