Arsenal are reportedly looking to sell Nicolas Pepe in the summer after his underwhelming performances since his £72m signing in 2019.

Arsenal Football Club is purportedly considering parting ways with Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old forward, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium in August 2019 for a club-record transfer fee of £72 million, has failed to live up to expectations since his high-profile move.

Pepe’s performances in North London have failed to mirror the impressive displays he exhibited during his time with French club Lille. Consequently, he has struggled to cement a starting place in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad, and the club is reportedly open to offloading the winger if a suitable offer is received.

According to reports, the Gunners’ hierarchy has already held preliminary discussions with Pepe’s representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer away from the club. The 27-year-old is currently on loan at OGC Nice, where he has enjoyed a relatively successful campaign so far, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 25 appearances.

If the conditions are right, it is suggested that Pepe could remain at Nice on a permanent basis, as he is not considered to be a crucial part of Arteta’s rebuilding process at Arsenal. The Gunners are reportedly keen to offload the Ivorian in order to free up funds for potential new signings in the summer transfer window.
