If there is a good opportunity in the transfer market, Arsenal will take advantage of it. Take a look at Eddie Nketiah; we have to work with what we have.

Lauren, an Arsenal fan, believes Mikel Arteta should put his faith in two current Gunners players rather than signing Declan Rice.

Arteta has led his team to the top of the Premier League table, five points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand.

To maintain their title challenge, Arsenal have entered the January transfer market, bringing in Brighton attacker Leandro Trossard and versatile defender Jakub Kiwior.

But there is already speculation about who the Gunners might sign in the summer, with some reports claiming that they are prepared to compete with Chelsea for the signature of West Ham and England star Rice.

Arteta is said to want to spend a club-record £80 million on the defensive midfielder to provide competition and cover for Thomas Partey, with the team set to compete in the Champions League next season.

But Lauren hopes that this transfer talk does not distract the manager and the players, telling FairBettingSites: ‘Arsenal have to be focused on the current team they have and not on new potential additions.

‘If there is a good opportunity in the transfer market, Arsenal will take advantage of it. Take a look at Eddie Nketiah; we have to work with what we have.

‘Why do we have to believe Thomas Partey will be hurt? He’s doing well and appears to be in good shape, so we need to focus on that rather than potential issues like Partey’s injury.

If that happens, Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga will be ready. But I don’t want to think about Declan Rice or any newcomers.’

Arteta appears to agree, with recent reports claiming that he is unwilling to let Lokonga leave on loan, but he will have to do without Elneny, who has a knee injury and may be out for the rest of the season.

Lauren’s example of Nketiah, on the other hand, is very valid, given how he has more than stepped up to the plate since Gabriel Jesus’ injury, negating Arsenal’s need to sign a new striker.

The 23-year-old has six goals in his last six games, including a brace in the Gunners’ 3-2 win over Manchester United last Sunday, a win that will no doubt be crucial if the Gunners win the Premier League.

‘The Arsenal team has been fantastic, and they demonstrated a lot of mental strength to come back and play quality football against Manchester United,’ Lauren added.

‘I’ve said before that if Arsenal can maintain their league lead by the end of January and the beginning of February, they have a good chance of winning the Premier League.’
